Manchester Lives On by Jolivia Gaston

The Lancashire Rose blooms

In the smoke of ashes

Roots embedded deep in concrete

The seeds on the ground don’t blister

Crystal tears melt in the eyes of others

Only in dreams do I awake and speak with you

Laughter filled the room

Secrets shared stories told

That smile tells me your home

Love anchored to my soul

And the rose petals scatter

Across England’s fertile land

No judgement no dissolution

The thorns of evil die
