Based in Manchester, Sui Anukka currently works as a teaching assistant specialising in one-to-one literacy intervention in secondary schools. Born in England to Sri Lankan parents and raised, in part, by her Finnish God-Mother, she grew up in Colombo and London.
Sui read Drama at the University of Bristol, and studied Production Design at the National Film and Television School. In addition to a career in film art departments, she has experience of being a post-office clerk, PA to a Shamanic Practitioner, private tutor, used-car marketer, copywriter, cleaner, factory worker and, (just the once), hair model.
She is currently editing her YA fantasy novel, The Reading House of Mount Yaa. She is also in the process of developing a series of short films and a stage play. Sui shares her short stories, flash fiction and word-sketches on her website. Things Sui enjoys include dancing, Marmite and fantasy gardening.
