You Should Blog It! Commonword Best Of Blog Competition 2011 – Full details
Commonword is North West England’s leading writing development agency and has launched the careers of dozens of writers. The blog site www.commonwordblogs.org.uk was created as a space for writers to get feedback on new work and work in progress.
The blog is free to join and is open to everyone. The competition is free to enter. It is, however, open only to writers living or working in the North of England.
The competition has two rounds: 1 Jan until June 30 2011, and July 1 to Dec 31 2011. There will be 3 winners in each round.
For each round there will be a shortlist of up to 20 posts, which will be selected by Commonword. The 3 winners will be selected by a guest judge. For the first round, ending on June 30 2011, the judge will be Shamshad Khan.
The winners of each round will receive £100 for first place, £50, for second place and £25 for third.
At the end of the competition an eBook (in pdf and epub formats) of the shortlisted writing will be published.
Posts can be of short fiction, flash fiction, poetry, autobiography, excerpts from a novel, a traditional blog post – in fact any kind of writing that works on the blog.
