Basir Kazmi

Born in Pakistan in 1953, Basir Sultan Kazmi is a poet in the ghazal tradition of his illustrious father, the late Nasir Kazmi. He taught English at the Government College Lahore. In the UK, he has taught at schools and at Bradford University.  He has two Urdu poetry collections and a few plays. Translations of his ghazals have been published in several magazines and anthologies. He won the North West Playwrights Workshop Award in 1992. He has recited his poetry in several cities of Europe, as well as in Pakistan, India, UAE and the USA.
