On Tuesday 8th March 2016, Women in the Spotlight will be showcasing their work, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Come down to the Three Minute Theatre for an evening of spoken word and theatre performed and written by Women in the Spotlight. Diverse women will each showcase a ten minute sketch or performance poetry set at the Three Minute Theatre. These performances will explore women’s voices: their different experiences, their lives, their thoughts and feelings and their identity as women.
Women in the Spotlight (WITS) is a theatre development programme for women who want to write for and/or perform on the stage. The group is made up of BAME and/or queer women and has been running for the past 4 years.
International women’s day is the ideal platform for celebration, sharing and forward thinking. Discussion of gender politics through the means of art provides a platform that can reach a wide variety of people and engage them with the importance of this day.
