Womanswrite

Commonword’s writing group for all women writers, regardless of background, sexuality, etc.

We meet on Tuesdays in the Commonword workshop space in the basement of the Friends’ Meeting House in Mount Street (entrance in Bootle Street), 11am – 1pm.

N.B. Womanswrite will be taking a break over the summer. The last workshop of the year is on Tuesday 19 July, starting again on Tuesday 6 September 2011.

Once a month we have an exercise session led by members of the group to stimulate our writing and promote new ways of looking at the world of words.  Occasionally we have a speaker to talk on an aspect of writing or the publishing process.  We critique each others’s work with a view to helping the writer to improve and possibly get their work into print (although this is not the only reason for writing).

We aim to provide a comfortable and supportive environment and welcome new women writers, as well as writers new to Manchester.
