To celebrate National Poetry Day Commonword organised a Poetry Picnic in Piccadilly Gardens! Poetry Chefs, Julian Daniel and Chanje Kunda, served up a mouth watering selection of verse to nourish the soul, joined on stage by some of the city’s top poets – including the finalists of the hotly contested Poem for Manchester Competition. Food was the theme for this year’s National Poetry Day and the appetising event was open to all, with an open mic’ to round off the afternoon of mouth-watering performances!
