National Black Writers & Publishers Conference 2007

On Saturday the 13th of October 2007, writers gathered at the Contact Theatre for the National Black Writers and Publishers Conference.

The valuable and exciting day provided panels of some of the country’s top publishers and agents, including Peepal Tree Press, Tamarind Books, Ayebia Clarke Literary Agency & Publishing and Salt Publishing.

Legendary Speakeasy Band filled the evening with music and poetry, as well as a performance from Commonword’s acclaimed innovator of British black poetry, Linton Kwesi Johnson.

With informative discussions on trends and tips regarding the publishing industry, the day-long event was a huge success!
