February swings round and suddenly there’s a spring in your step. It’s the season of love and whether you sat on the sidelines watching others fall or were fully loved-up, the one thing everybody had in common this February 2010 was Commonword’s excellent Valentine’s Day Poetry Special.

The six poets took on the whole love caboodle. Two teams; each a mixture of cavaliers and roundheads, romantics and rationalists took turns to cover three topics. Stage 1: Attraction and Falling, Stage 2: All Loved Up and Stage 3: Eternity and Endings.

Hosted by the legendary Gerry Potter, with a fantastic open mic session as a warm up, the hopeless romantics at Commonword voted this an excellent evening all round!
