Brothas

Featuring five of the North West’s finest male performance poets, Commonword’s Black Writers Group interacted with both each other and the audience to host an entertaining and enlightening event at Contact Theatre in 2005.

The spoken word had never been more resonant as these guys took on a range of subjects that had you clutching you heart and splitting your sides. Their poems, songs and sketches covered subjects from relationships, the mating game, spirituality and politics in tones and styles ranging from the ribald to the divine.

The Brothas: Julian Daniel, Zahid Hussain, Segun Lee French, Mabrak, Dike Omeje and John Siddique.
