Our core programme of work will run in each of the three years and comprises:
- Delivery of 180 creative writing workshops
- Run a mentoring programme for at least 15 promising writers
- Production of five live literature events per year, in addition to the delivery of at least two live literature productions per event at: National Poetry Day, Black History Month, International Women’s Week.
In addition we will:
2014-2015
- Develop our young poets’ project to include mentoring, performance and tour opportunities
- Programme at least one event into MMU Manchester Children’s Book Festival 2014
- Collaborate with Penguin and Catherine Pellegrino Agency in running our Commonword Diversity Writing For Children Award project.
- Organise an Asian Literature Festival/Conference
- Initiate a culture-specific writing development project
- Publish a digitally downloadable and smart phone readable e-book of LGBT creative writing
- Develop an anthology of poetry by new writers on the theme of Surveillance and an associated tour
- Provide on-line creative writing classes via our website
